The Bench

What works best

One bench under one tree, and the two of you on it through a whole year — blossom, a long summer evening, leaves coming down, then snow on your shoulders. No faces, just two figures who keep ending up on the same bench. At the end the camera pushes in on the little brass plaque on the back of it — your two names, your year — and your line is engraved onto it letter by letter. Add your photo and it sits in the plaque as a small enamel portrait.
